Matt 5:4 "Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted".
Have you faced major losses in your life? Do you feel unable to endure another loss? Are you overwhelmed by the losses you've experienced?
If you answered yes to these questions, you're in the right place. Life is filled with losses, and it's essential to learn how to cope with the pain and disappointment that come with them.
It's important to acknowledge that loss can appear in different forms, whether it's losing a job, going through a divorce, or the end of a friendship or partnership. Loss can also result from death, involving a parent, child, sibling, relative, spouse, or even a cherished pet. Additionally, there can be losses related to health, memory, status, or title. All these losses accumulate and affect your conscious and subconscious mind and emotions.
Here are seven suggestions to help you manage the losses in your life:
1. Use positive self-affirmations, such as "I am capable. I can overcome this. I trust in the Lord, who will never abandon me."
2. Despite the upheaval of divorce, remember that you will grow stronger and be able to move on without the other person.
3. Losing a job is tough, but you can find another one. You might even consider working multiple jobs if necessary to make ends meet.
4. Dealing with health issues is challenging, but seeking therapy and mental health support can help. Your faith can be a source of strength as you adjust to your new circumstances. Remember, things may be different, but they are not the end.
5. Allow yourself to cry but avoid staying in that state. Spend time with friends and family, engage in enjoyable activities, and appreciate their company.
6. Seek moments of joy, like meeting a friend for coffee, breakfast, or lunch. Share laughter, peace, and enjoy a friendship free of judgment.
7. Find ways to help others by writing a note, visiting, or sending encouraging messages. Focusing on helping someone else can bring positivity and motivation.
By following these simple tips, you will start to feel better and take active steps towards positive changes within yourself.
I find great peace in the Word of God. The Word promises comfort in the times we are mourning.
In Psalm 34:18, we are reminded that the "Lord is near to the broken hearted and saves the crushed in spirit".
Stay strong. There is still a lot of life awaiting you. The Lord is able and is available to help you through this season in your life. He will provide the strength and fortitude you need to move forward.
